My Philosophy

I believe that the horse first learns respect, then you can build confidence through a conditioned response of wanted behavior, through pressure and release. You need to have high expectations for your horse, don't ask for to much to soon. I continually strive to improve my horsemanship and grow as a trainer.

Scott Spencer training a horseTraining

I train with a focus on a foundation to produce a finished, well-trained, soft and supple horse. Every discipline can benefit from this foundation. I will work with you and give you the tools you need to improve communication with your horse. When you take your horse home, you will be able to maintain and build on what you have learned during training.

I am a certified trainer under Matt Gable of Gable Horsemanship. Matt is a certified John Lyons instructor.

The Healthy Hoof

A Natural Hoof Trim?
What is it?

There is a lot to learn and a lot of good people doing great things in the barefoot world. I have studied under the AANHCP and followed Pete Ramey. I have mentorshiped under good people, and have learned a lot from them. I know I have to keep learning and let the horses show me through their hoof what is best. For more info visit www.AANHCP.net.

Natural hoof care is trimming to fully utilize the way God designed the hoof. The hoof will develop into a durable healthy hoof that will increase blood flow and develop a tough sole to protect the coffin bone. I trim in response to the growth and wear of the bottom of the hoof, taking away what needs to be removed and leaving what needs to stay.

All horses are capable of going barefoot; every breed, every hoof color, every age or discipline. Going barefoot benefits the overall horses MIND, BODY & SOLE. The expense of going barefoot is less than putting on shoes. CALL FOR PRICES!

Note: The distance I will travel to trim is a 3 hour radius from home.
